Frequently Asked Questions

How does archiving work?

Archiving in our plugin allows you to move old WooCommerce orders from your WordPress database to a remote database. This frees up space and optimizes your store’s performance. You can select a range of orders to archive, such as those older than 7 days, 15 days, 1 month, or custom ranges. Once archived, these orders are still accessible from the WooCommerce orders page, but instead of being fetched from your WordPress database, they are pulled from the remote database, ensuring your main database remains fast and lightweight.

Will future updates include more database support?

Yes! Currently, the plugin supports archiving to Amazon RDS. In future updates, we plan to integrate with other cloud platforms that support MySQL databases, such as Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database for MySQL, and DigitalOcean Managed Databases. Stay tuned for future releases with expanded database support.

Can I download or export the orders?

Yes! You can easily export your orders in a CSV, JSON, or XML file. You can select the order range and our plugin will generate a file of your chosen format with all the orders in it. We are working to bring support for export in more formats such as, PDF, HTMLS, XLS, and more.

Can I archive custom post types?

At this moment, the plugin supports archiving WooCommerce order data only. However, in future updates, we plan to extend archiving functionality to other WordPress post types, including custom post types. This will allow you to free up space for other types of data, such as blog posts, products, or any custom post types you may have on your website.

How secure is the remote database integration?

Security is a top priority in our plugin. The remote database integration is handled through secure, encrypted connections (SSL) to ensure that your data is transferred and stored safely. Only authorized users with the necessary credentials can access the remote database. We also recommend following best security practices such as using strong passwords and managing access controls for your databases.

How does the auto-archive feature work?

The auto-archive feature (coming soon) will allow you to set up automatic schedules for archiving old orders. You can configure the plugin to archive orders on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, or set custom intervals that suit your business needs. This automation ensures your WooCommerce database remains optimized without requiring manual intervention, helping your store run smoothly even as order volume grows.
